OPENING NIGHT FILM ANNOUNCED / OPENINGSFILM BEKEND GEMAAKT

On Tuesday, October 22, the film festival will kick off with the Swedish opening film One Day All This Will Be Yours, in the presence of director Andreas Öhman. Andreas Öhman will be present throughout the entire festival to engage with attendees.

Thirty-something bohemian Lisa (Karin Franz Körloff, superb), a graphic novelist, is struggling with a book deadline when she gets summoned home to the family holding in northern Sweden. It seems her parents want to ensure the smooth handover of their land after they are gone. The catch? Only one of their three children will take over the forest and sawmill, and that person must commit to live in the northern wilds. Needless to say, Lisa and her equally citified brother and sister are less than enthusiastic… From the smart, funny, and fast-paced screenplay to the very well-done direction to the gorgeous locations and fine acting, writer-director Andreas Öhman’s comedic drama has something for everyone.

Andreas Öhman
Andreas Öhman, born 1985, is a writer-director from northern Sweden. After making several award-winning short films, he made his first feature in 2010 –Simple Simon. The film was nominated for several Guldbaggen (Swedish Film Awards) and shortlisted as Best Foreign Language Feature at the Oscars in 2011. Since then, he has written and directed four feature films, including Bitch Hug (2012), Remake (2014), and Odödliga (2015), as well as his latest, One Day All This Will Be Yours (2023).

Op dinsdag 22 oktober gaat het filmfestival van start met de Zweedse openingsfilm One Day All This Will Be Yours, in aanwezigheid van regisseur Andreas Öhman. Andreas Öhman zal gedurende het hele festival aanwezig zijn om in gesprek te gaan met filmbezoekers.

De dertigjarige Lisa (Karin Franz Körlof), een creatieve grafisch romanschrijfster, worstelt met de deadline van haar boek. Ondertussen willen haar ouders vastleggen hoe hun land in het noorden van Zweden na hun overlijden wordt overgedragen. Hun voorwaarde? Slechts één van hun drie kinderen mag het bos en de zagerij erven en die persoon moet verplicht in de afgelegen noordelijke wildernis gaan wonen. Maar Lisa, haar broer en haar zus zijn daar niet bepaald enthousiast over… Met een slim en humoristisch geschreven scenario, uitstekende regie, prachtige locaties en sterk acteerwerk trakteert schrijver-regisseur Andreas Öhman de kijker op een sterk komisch drama.

Voor de openingsfilm komt de Zweedse Andreas Öhman op bezoek in Tilburg. Na het maken van verschillende bekroonde korte films maakte hij in 2010 zijn eerste speelfilm – Simple Simon. De film werd genomineerd voor meerdere filmprijzen en stond op de shortlist voor Beste Buitenlandse Film bij de Oscars in 2011. De film werd genomineerd voor meerdere Guldbaggen (Zweedse Filmprijzen) en stond op de shortlist voor Beste Buitenlandse Film bij de Oscars in 2011. Sindsdien heeft hij vier speelfilms geschreven en geregisseerd, waaronder Bitch Hug (2012), Remake (2014), en Odödliga (2015), evenals zijn meest recente film, One Day All This Will Be Yours (2023).
