GUESTS AT THIS YEAR'S 013 CIFF! / AANWEZIGE FILMMAKERS

The sixth edition of the 013 CIFF features a record number of guests scheduled to visit the festival and take part in introductions and Q&As with our audience. As of two weeks before the festival, six directors and actors have said yes to our invitations. Opening Night patrons will be greeted by Andreas Öhman, writer-director of the Swedish film One Day All This Will Be Yours, our opening presentation on Tuesday, October 22. The Closing Night screening of Life’s a Bitch, on Saturday, October 26, will introduce Belgian writer-director Xavier Seron and actor Louise Manteau to Tilburg. In between opening and closing nights, audiences can interact with the Georgian writer-director Rusudan Glurjidze, whose The Antique caused an uproar at Venice when its Russian co-producers tried to have it banned (they failed); writer-director Gazmend Nela from Kosovo, attending with his police thriller Silence of Sirens; and Iranian actor Yasna Mirtahmasb, whose performance in Roxana won him the Best Actor award at the Tokyo Film Festival. All the guests will be on hand for their evening screenings in Cinema 1, and we are encouraging them to do intros and Q&As at their other screenings. De zesde editie van het 013 CIFF verwelkomt dit jaar een recordaantal filmmakers, die het festival extra bijzonder maken door deel te nemen aan inleidingen en Q&A’s met het publiek. Bezoekers van de openingsavond worden verwelkomd door Andreas Öhman, schrijver en regisseur van de Zweedse film One Day All This Will Be Yours, de openingsfilm op dinsdag 22 oktober.

Tijdens de slotavond op zaterdag 26 oktober zullen de Belgische schrijver-regisseur Xavier Seron en actrice Louise Manteau bij de vertoning van Life’s a Bitch aanwezig zijn. Tussen de openings- en slotavond door krijgen bezoekers de kans om in gesprek te gaan met de Georgische schrijver-regisseur Rusudan Glurjidze, wiens film The Antique voor opschudding zorgde in Venetië toen de Russische co-producenten probeerden de vertoning te verbieden (zonder succes). De Kosovaarse schrijver-regisseur Gazmend Nela zal aanwezig zijn met zijn spannende politiethriller Silence of Sirens. Ook de Iraanse filmmaker Yasna Mirtahmasb komt naar het festival; zijn indrukwekkende rol in Roxana leverde hem de prestigieuze prijs voor Beste Acteur op tijdens het Tokyo Film Festival.

Al deze filmmakers zullen aanwezig zijn bij de avondvertoningen in Zaal 1, en wellicht zullen ze ook inleidingen en Q&A’s te geven bij hun andere vertoningen.
